An excerpt from one of my students’ essays

March 2, 2010

The government doesn’t care about the people especially the women because the women have no strong energy as men. But the women can work hard at home as clean desk, make food, take care the children, wash clothes. Especially, they can pregnancy that the men can’t do this.

So yeah, the gender training is… coming along.

Can I share this with my team? Interesting thing…we had a bunch of applicants to the summit from Cambodia and they were all men. I’m guessing it is because that is who is mainly employed by the NGOs? Not a common pattern from our applicants anywhere else, though. Miss you!!

      Of course, please share it!
That is interesting that so many men applied… my impression has been that NGO employment here is pretty even, but maybe it’s a difference in leadership/management positions.
      Miss you too!

A boy (man?). He’s a second year university student, in my class for advanced English learners about social issues.
